Introduction to Boron Nitride Ceramic Materials

Boron nitride (BN) ceramics are renowned for their exceptional high-temperature resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 850°C in air and up to 2000°C in inert gases. Simultaneously, they possess excellent thermal stability and conductivity, allowing them to maintain outstanding performance even in high-temperature environments. They are widely used in high-temperature furnaces and chemical equipment, and other fields requiring high-temperature stability.

Features

Boron nitride (BN) ceramics are a very unique and useful ceramic material with a number of remarkable properties.

1. Excellent mechanical properties and applications

Boron nitride ceramics possess excellent mechanical properties, including high purity and low density, making them outstanding in a variety of applications.

Density: 1.95±0.05 g/cm³
Purity: BN purity up to 99.5%
Hardness: 4 Kg/mm²
Porosity: 15%
Flexural Strength: 22 MPa at 20℃

These mechanical properties enable boron nitride ceramics to be widely used in industrial fields, especially in environments requiring high purity and specific mechanical properties.

2. Excellent thermal properties

Boron nitride ceramics also possess excellent thermal properties, including high-temperature stability and good thermal conductivity, making them suitable for a variety of high-temperature applications.

Maximum operating temperature: 850℃ in air; up to 2000℃ in inert gases.
Thermal conductivity: 50-70 W/(m·K) at 25℃.
Coefficient of thermal expansion: 1-1.2 × 10⁻⁶/K in the range of 25℃ to 1900℃.

These thermodynamic properties make boron nitride ceramics very useful in applications requiring high-temperature stability and good thermal conductivity, such as high-temperature furnaces and chemical process equipment.
